Probably the smallest electric engine to grace the 1" track. Remote controlled box cab was seen earlier in the day pulling something, but I didn't get details. I also don't know whose it is. |
Brian installing new wheels and axles on 9449. He had to machine the axles, using club equipment in the shop, in order to make the installation work. Several people worked with him from time to time. I showed him and Gerald Lee the basics on the lathe, and they did most of the actual cutting. |
On the left, Steven Tacconelly with his 1.6" scale Mikado and on the right, Greg Randall with his 1" scale Pacific. Greg recently found out that his engine was built somewhere in NY in the mid-80's. |
Here's a unique way to warm up the steam oil by setting it on the smokestack. The oil was so thick in the cold air that the pump would stop working. |
Steven T. pulling out for a morning run. Steam engines look great in cold weather. |
A nice day for a ride at Zube Park. |

Unusual pairing of box car on top of gondola. The rear truck on the box car came off during a run. We never found the bolt. Rather than leaving it to be picked up later, Steven Tacconelly and someone else picked it up and put it in the gon. The paired cars made it nicely around the track with no problems. |
