Work Day at Nathan's
In spite of the busy holiday season, a good turnout of HALS members for the December 12th track panel work session produced a total of 160 feet prefab track. Additional refinements to the assembly jig, which included installation of rail positioners and electric drill holders, enhanced the productivity rate as the day progressed, The jig easily accommodated five members working at the same time. Another crew dipped ties to a brownish black appearance. Another group cut, cleaned, then painted rails a rusty brown shade, adding to the pleasing appearence. There was enough work to keep all hands busy for the afternoon. Task Master Nathan Nuese, saw to that. The only way the crew could get a break was to turn on all equipment at once to blow a fuse. The respite gave everyone an opportunity to inspect Nathan's recently completed foundry. Other Members participating in this project were, Lee Spinner, Mark Bing, Jim Jackson, Stu Marion, Dennis Cranston, David Hamilton, Claude Wiseman, Mike Henry, Barry Tobias, Gordon Bauman, and prospective new member Don Foster.
